 Greetings and welcome to the first edition of The Scoop in 2013.  We, your new editors, thank you for your support, suggestions and contributions to this edition.  We’d also like to thank the outgoing editors – Shelly Steenhorst-Baker and Sharina Janif- for their service and dedication to The Scoop.  We look forward to continuing in their exemplary standards, and of connecting and working with you on our newsletter.

Twittertalk: Qualifying new prospects

APRA Canada’s Twittertalks are a unique way of connecting with peers across Canada and have even been attended by some of our colleagues in the United States.

On 16 Jan. 2013, a lively Twittertalk on qualifying new prospects was held, reaching 3,964 followers within 24 hours.  The discussion generated 327 tweets (206 tweets, 68 re-tweets, 53 mentions) and 49,320 impressions.

APRA Canada’s Mentorship program is currently seeking experienced researchers to volunteer in a leadership role.

Since becoming the Director of Mentorship in November 2011, I have had the pleasure of bringing together seasoned researchers with those new to the field from across Canada, and continue to receive requests from researchers wanting a mentor.

Each year, APRA International hosts a multi-day conference packed with informative sessions on key topics, such as data analytics, prospect management, and the latest prospect research techniques.  The Conference is a great learning opportunity for researchers and a wonderful occasion to network with colleagues from around the world.
