In February 2012 APRA International held its first ever Chapter “think tank” meeting over the course of a Friday afternoon and Saturday morning at APRA Headquarters in Chicago. Radikha Jaggernauth, Director of Regional Representatives attended to represent APRA-Canada. 15 other chapters from across the United States also sent representatives from their boards. The purpose of the meeting was to engage the chapters in discussions around the mission of APRA as part of its larger overall strategic planning process. The sessions were also a great opportunity to meet and network with other chapter leaders.
Last month I was among the participants in our first ever “twitter talk”, about using social media for prospect research. Being new to twitter (and somewhat hesitant to post my own tweets), by the end I was completely engaged and energized, both by the medium of twitter, and the content of what we were learning from one another! Since then, I’ve been following some of the participants from Canada and beyond and continue to learn from them. I’ll definitely be in attendance next time and would encourage you to do the same! Special thanks to Liz Rejman for organizing a terrific learning event for our chapter.
As always, if you have any questions about any aspect of our chapter, please feel free to contact either myself or any member of the board.
