Issue 37 April 2012

By Liz Rejman

On March 14, APRA Canada hosted its very first twitter talk on social media and prospect research.  It was a lively discussion with 425 tweets generated 170,774 impressions, reaching an audience of 8,090 followers.  Researchers from across Canada and the US joined in sharing information, asking questions and generating a lively dialogue 140 characters at a time. For those who are still new to social media there will be a workshop presentation at the conference covering Twitter and LinkedIn.

With the success of this inaugural chat another twitter talk will be scheduled for November to discuss best practices in Raiser's Edge.

There will be two webinars scheduled for this calendar year but we need your help to make them happen.  Do you have a best practice, case study or new knowledge that you would like to share with fellow researchers?  Perhaps there is a topic area that you would like to see covered in a webinar?  Please let me know, as we are always looking for presenters and topic ideas for our webinars. I can be reached at elizabeth.rejman@lhsc.on.ca, via twitter at @erejman or through linkedin at http://ca.linkedin.com/in/erejman
