Issue 38 July 2012

Hello Canadian Prospect Researchers and welcome to the summer issue of The Scoop!

Social Media is ubiquitous at the moment and likely will be for quite some time - so we’ve dedicated this July 2012 issue to this hot topic!  We have an article from Liz Rejman on the ethical side of social media as a prospecting tool.  And, in case you just don’t know where to begin, co-editor Shelly Steenhorst-Baker has written about how to get started in social media.

Also in this issue, several APRA-Canada Directors have submitted reports for Communications, Membership, Mentorship, Professional Development, and the Treasury, and we have communiqué from the VP/Secretary and President.

Lastly but certainly not least, Selene Hur, Co-Chair of the 2012 APRA-Canada Conference, has provided an update on the conference scheduled for Toronto in October 2012.  In case you haven’t already registered this will definitely motivate you to register soon!

As co-editors, Shelly and I hope you enjoy this issue and find it both informative and enjoyable.  Ideally, we try to ensure that no matter what size your Research shop is, you feel included in the APRA-Canada organization, feel informed about the sector and engaged with your colleagues around the country.   Including information on hot topics, trends, etc is simply icing on the cake!

If you have any suggestions for future issues or would like to send us comments/critiques, please feel free to email us.

Have a great summer read!
