Issue 39 December 2012

After a two-year journey of conference planning and preparation, everything came to life during October 10-12 when over 150 delegates and speakers attended APRA-C’s Leading Discovery conference in Toronto. Early results from the post-conference survey show that an overwhelming majority of attendees would recommend the APRA-C conference to colleagues given the quality of programming and networking opportunities.

In addition to our wonderful keynote and plenary speakers, programming highlights included sessions on prospect management and metrics, pipeline development, use of social media, private company valuation, and relationship mapping. We were fortunate to have so many speakers volunteer their time to share their experience and expertise.

Thank you to all of our generous sponsors: Blackbaud / Target Analytics, Blakely & Associates, CharityCan, Environics Analytics, iWave Information Systems, KCI (Ketchum Canada Inc.), and BC Cancer Foundation. Their support helped to keep this conference accessible for Canadian and US delegates from small to large organizations representing all nonprofit sectors.

Finally, we’d like to thank all the volunteers who worked so tirelessly on this conference. In particular, thank you to our committee leads and advisors: Helen Barbalias, Lauren Burgess, Tracey Church, John Hermans, Suzanne Huett, Corinne Hynes, Amy McKinnon, Mark Neilans, Izabela Piasecka-Latour, Valerie Moore, and Stephanie Baschiera.

We wish everyone all the best with their research endeavours!
