Issue 39 December 2012

Welcome to another informative issue of The Scoop. In this issue, get to know your 2012-13 Board members and what's currently happening in the Board portfolios.

We also have articles on a couple of hot topics from the APRA Canada Conference. Liz Rejman, CFRE; Development Researcher, London Health Sciences Foundation and Izabela Piasecka-Latour, MLIS; Manager Prospect Research, Ontario CNIB walk through their presentation on "Bursting the Internet Filter Bubble", and Kat Carson, Prospect Management Specialist, University of Calgary, presents the details of University of Calgary's prospect management best practices with "Supporting our Fundraisers: Prospect Management at the University of Calgary." Melody Song has also written an "APRA International Conference Review".

We will both be stepping down as The Scoop’s co-editors after this issue (pending the successful search for replacements). We want to thank APRA Canada for this opportunity to connect with our colleagues in such a meaningful way. We also want to acknowledge all of the wonderful contributors who have made our issues so successful, and who have been so generous in sharing knowledge and expertise. This experience has been a marvelous opportunity to grow as professionals, and we look forward to reading more enlightening issues of The Scoop in the future.

All the best,

Shelly Steenhorst-Baker, University of Calgary

Sharina Janif, University of British Columbia
