Professional Development Board Report
I am pleased to be a new member of APRA Canada’s Board and to be in charge of the Professional Development portfolio. I am very thankful to Elizabeth Rejman, who was previously in charge of the portfolio, for her great work in planning the lineup for 2013.

International Research: the Middle East
Join Beth Bandy of International Fundraising Intelligence (www.ifintelligence.com) as she helps you learn how to be an effective researcher in the Middle East. She will cover the following topics:
- finding asset information (what's available in different countries, and what's not)
- naming conventions (key things to know, how they may help identify family connections/wealth)
- philanthropy trends
- overcoming language barriers (tools and strategies for researching in Arabic)
