On May 7, 2014, APRA-Canada hosted a webinar titled “Private Company Valuation for the Canadian Prospect Researcher” presented by the University of Toronto’s Director, Advancement Research, John Hermans. It attracted 99 registrants and was considered a success.
At the end of the presentation, I announced that APRA would be aiming to hold another webinar in either July or August. The results from the APRA survey indicated that members are keen to see a presentation focusing exclusively on SEDI, so I invited webinar participants to forward names of individuals who have a thorough knowledge of the subject or volunteer themselves.
I was fortunate to have Erin Moffatt, Prospect Management & Research Officer at the Sunnybrook Foundation forward me a September 2013 presentation she gave to the Toronto Arts Professional Researchers for Advancement (TAPRA). It explores SEDI very thoroughly and is well-aligned with the objectives of the next webinar. We have agreed to hold the presentation on August 6th at 1pm (EST) and I will be contacting Erin within the next week or so to get some information that we can put into an e-mail, advertising the event to APRA members at least four weeks in advance.
