Mentorship Update by Allison Smith

Mentorship Progam - Comments from the Mentees

"When I started my new position as a prospect researcher, I signed up with the mentorship program through APRA right away. Being completely new to the field, I didn't have any contacts that I could reach out with questions regarding prospect research. The mentorship program provided me with a local contact who had lots of experience dealing with issues that I was facing.

President's Corner

The main theme of the first issue of 2011 is Prospect Management and Relationship Mapping.  Increasingly, researchers are playing an important role as thought leaders in the development and creation of systems to track & evaluate fundraiser portfolios. I am looking forward to hearing Sarah McCarthy and Erin Bartok's web seminar next month on Comprehensive Volunteer Management based on their award-winning submission for the 2010 APRA-Canada Award in Prospect Research.
